The DAP is so close to regaining power. The rakyat is extremely frustrated with disappointment after disappointment from the Perikatan Nasional government. But as they did in 2018, 2013 and even before the 2008 tsunami, they keep repeating the same mistake.

In order to run Putrajaya, you need to have Malay support. But the DAP keeps antagonizing sections of society that are largely Malay. In 2019, PH antagonised the entire civil service, who are largely Malay, by accusing them of sabotage, and of being 'loyal to BN'.

Recently, the Political Secretary to DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang who is a 'Melayu Bangsar' antagonized the Malay grassroots again after insulting policy makers in the Civil Service, by saying that they have never taken public transport before. It is ironic that he accuses them of also being fancy (i.e. having croissants for breakfast).

There was an attempt to contain the damage by backtracking and saying that he was referring to Ministers only, not civil servants. But the damage has already been done. Most netizens reading his post know what he means.

You cannot win Putrajaya without Malay votes, and you cannot run Putrajaya without the (mostly) Malays civil servants.
